The source for this information is the LHSC 2003 Traffic Records Data Report (lhsc.lsu.edu).

In 2003

 66.7% of all traffic fatalities were drivers, 23.02% passengers and 9.3% pedestrians.  

There were 1237 drivers in fatal crashes of which 602 were killed.


 
403 traffic fatalities were estimated to be alcohol related in 2003.

358 of the 403 fatalities in alcohol-involved crashes (88.8%) had either alcohol themselves or were driving with a person who had alcohol.

63 of the fatalities in alcohol-involved crashes (14.6%) where killed by another driver who used alcohol.
